The project team has compiled information about the state of the municipality's urban forest to inform ta new Urban Forest Management Plan (UFMP). We are now in the first phase of public engagement which will inform the updated UFMP vision and goals. A second phase of engagement will occur in the spring of 2024 to seek feedback on the draft UFMP framework.
Public engagement for the UFMP will begin on February 12, 2024. Engagement objectives for this project are to:
- Inform the public about the status of the urban forest, the diverse benefits the urban forest provides to the community, and the current challenges and opportunities for urban forest management.
- Involve the community in developing long-term vision for the urban forest and goals for its management.
- Consult the community to identify opportunities to preserve, protect, grow, and enhance our urban forest.

Our survey is open from February 12, 2024 to March 29, 2024 to provide your input.
