Join the Take Action Committee for a special twist to their regular Walking Club - with Walk n' Roll Halifax we'll stroll around the neighbourhood and talk about what makes the community great and what could be improved. Feedback will be sent to HRM's planning team.
We'll start in Northbrook Park, and visit both Wyse Road and Victoria Road, which are identified as future growth areas in the Centre Plan.

Walk n' Roll Community Led Walk | Dalhousie University Students
Meet at the end of Agricola in front of the Armoury near the new roundabout on Cunard and North Park Street.
This walk will look at green space, connectivity and mobility, pedestrian comfort, public space, and accessibility around the Commons. We'll discuss how the Centre Plan can support an accessible and connected community.
The walk will follow North Park, Trollope Street, Bell Road, Robie and Cogswell around the Common. This walk is led by Julia Million a Dal School of Planning soon-to-be-graduate, with support from Alice Main, a Dal Sustainability student.

Meet at the cul-de-sac at the end of Willow Street, beside Oxford School.
The Ardmore Community invites you to join them for a neighbourhood walk in the area bounded by Connolly, Bayers, Windsor and North. Come for a stroll and let us know your thoughts on what the Centre Plan can provide for your area. After the walk ends, participants are invited to go for a cup of coffee at Local Jo if they'd like to talk more, or finish filling out their worksheets.

Walk n' Roll Community Led Walk | Urban Sketchers Halifax
Meet outside the LF Bakery at 2063 Gottingen Street
Join with Walk n' Roll Halifax and members of Urban Sketchers Halifax to explore this dynamic north end neighbourhood and tell the stories of what we observe through sketching. We will meet at the LF Bakery for a brief introduction to the Centre Plan and what sort of community input is being sought.
Then everyone will go on their own or in small groups, and sketch whatever interests them.
(If the weather is really inclement, we will have to be creative and seek indoor venues for drawing.)
The group will meet up at Agora Cafe at 2394 Agricola St between 2:30 and 3 pm to have a coffee, warm up, and share what we have done.
Photos of completed sketches will be submitted to the Centre Plan team.
Bring your sketching supplies, something to sit on like a lightweight folding stool or chair, and dress for the weather!

Join Friends of Halifax Common for a walks to consider the effect of the Centre Plan on the Halifax Common, its public open space, streetscape, historic residential neighbourhoods and formal entities such as Common Roots etc. The walk will also explore the value of open space generally, and the degree to which this value is reflected in the draft plan. This walk will look at the "Central and North Common" area from Robie at Quinpool to Robie at Cunard.

Join Patricia Cuttell, Executive Director of the North End Business Association and Adjunct Professor at Dalhousie's School of Planning, as she gives a guided walking that will deconstruct the structural elements of the Centre Plan in the North End. The walk will look at Primary Growth Areas, Established and Higher Order Residential, and Corridors along and between Gottingen and Agricola. Tapping into her planning expertise, Patricia will help participants visualize what is being proposed in the Centre Plan, and provide opportunities to ask questions and record feedback. Participants are welcome to go to Gus’ Pub (after this final walk of the day) for more Centre Plan discussion.

OutdoorActive Fitness Halifax is hosting a walk for women (inclusive of trans and non-binary folks) to generate ideas about how the Centre Plan can best promote key values related to public open space, including: - creating a respectful and safe environment for all people; promoting beauty and ecological integrity in natural areas; ensuring an appropriate supply of green space for healthy and happy communities. In the spirit of our commitment to health and fitness, the walk will begin with a warm-up and end with a stretch, and include a few gentle exercises along the way!
