The Bedford-Sackville Greenway Corridor is part of a vision, spearheaded by the Sackville Rivers Association, to develop a Conservation Corridor with a trail network that follows the entire Sackville River, starting at the Bedford Basin and extending to Mount Uniacke.
The purpose of this project is to develop a functional plan to guide future recapitalization, improvement and extension of the Bedford-Sackville Greenway Corridor that supports the vision of a connected all ages and abilities (AAA) active transportation facility between the Cobequid Transit Terminal in Lower Sackville to Scott Manor House in Bedford along the Sackville River.

The goal is to identify the preferred options to increase the accessibility and durability of the existing active transportation facilities during all seasons, and expand the AAA network to improve the active transportation connection between origins and destinations in the communities of Bedford and Lower Sackville.
This project included two rounds of public engagement. The first round was held to collect information that guided the development of concepts of potential route alignments for the greenway extensions. The second round was held to provide an opportunity for the public to submit feedback on the developed route alignment concepts to aid in the decision of choosing the preferred concept to continue for further design.
