Inglis St Bus Stop - Features for People with Vision Related Disabilities - Pilot
Halifax Transit has recently opened its first bus stop on Inglis St., which introduces new accessibility features for Halifax Transit passengers with vision related disabilities.
The bus stop features:
- Natural cast iron tactile direction indicator plates to guide people with visual impairments.
- Raised text and braille text letters on bus stop signage mounted on a pole with bus stop number listed,
- A mid-block pedestrian crosswalk at the bump out with tactile direction indicator plates; and
- A push button that has audible sound, which will activate the flashing lights to stop traffic.

The bus stop is located on Inglis Street between Wellington St and Robie St
